The safest packing list is the one you make from your own concert’s latest official notice. Rules for bags, recording devices, drinks and luggage storage can differ between artists, venues, dates and organizers. An item that was accepted at one event is not automatically permitted at another.
This guide uses three historical examples: &TEAM’s 2026 Japan tour, GFRIEND’s January 2025 concerts and the 2026 Seoul Music Festival. Their instructions illustrate how to read notices; they are not current entry rules for a different show.
1. Find the correct notice before making your packing list
Start with the organizer, artist’s official channel, official ticketing announcement or festival website. Match the event name, performance date, country, venue and ticket category. Look for pages titled “Concert Information,” “Precautions,” “Prohibited Items,” “Entry,” “FAQ” or “Locker Service.” Check for a revised notice and recheck close to departure.
Save the official link, not just an old screenshot. If a particular item’s status is not stated, mark it “not confirmed”, rather than “allowed.” A venue’s general policy and an organizer’s event-specific notice can address different issues; check both and follow the latest applicable official guidance.

2. Check bag size, design and security screening
Look for permitted dimensions, number of bags, backpack or suitcase rules, transparent-bag requirements if any, and whether bag checks are conducted. No universal clear-bag rule is established by the examples here. In its Japan tour notice, &TEAM warned of bag inspections. GFRIEND’s 2025 concert notice prohibited large bags such as suitcases and oversized backpacks. The Seoul Music Festival’s 2026 FAQ described an entry security check. These are event-specific examples, not one shared size limit.
Practical tip: put essential items in a compact bag that fits the rules you actually found. Do not assume a bag is acceptable just because another concert allowed it.
3. Separate bringing a device from using it
Check two questions for each device: Can I bring it inside? and Can I take photos, record or livestream with it? A smartphone may be needed for ordinary travel or ticket information, but that does not mean filming the performance is permitted.
In the &TEAM 2026 Japan tour notice, cameras, recording devices and magnifying glasses with a recording function were prohibited, alongside restrictions on smartphone use and performance recording. This wording does not establish a blanket rule for every ordinary optical binocular or magnifier. If you plan to carry non-recording binoculars, check the exact organizer and venue policy separately.
By contrast, the 2026 Seoul Music Festival FAQ allowed ordinary phone photography, while restricting professional equipment such as interchangeable-lens cameras or camcorders, livestreaming and disruptive filming. GFRIEND’s 2025 concert also prohibited taking photos, filming and recording during the performance. Phone possession, camera entry and filming permission are three different checks.
4. Confirm water, food and fan-item rules
Read the precise conditions for water and other drinks: container type, capacity, whether it must be unopened, quantity and consumption areas. Check food separately. In the past GFRIEND 2025 concerts, the notice made an exception for one 500 mL water bottle while restricting other food and drinks. The past 2026 Seoul Music Festival FAQ also specified a limited bottled-water exception, but its own conditions belonged to that festival. Neither example sets your event’s allowance.
Check official light sticks, banners, fans and other cheering items for permitted size and use. &TEAM’s tour notice specified how cheering goods could be held and restricted items interfering with others’ view. A light stick’s sale or ownership does not by itself confirm permission to use every type of fan item.
5. Make a storage plan before you leave
Look for a locker or staffed baggage desk, its location, hours, fee, capacity, retrieval conditions and items it will not accept. Check whether the service is inside or outside the entry checkpoint, and whether leaving and re-entering is allowed. Do not assume the venue provides storage.
The &TEAM 2026 Japan notice stated that no storage space would be provided inside the venue and referred attendees to coin lockers. The GFRIEND 2025 notice described a paid, first-come-first-served locker service that could close early and excluded categories including fragile items, food and drinks, certain electronics and valuables. The Seoul Music Festival 2026 FAQ stated that organizers would not store prohibited items found at entry. These are past-event arrangements; their former prices and hours should not be used to plan a new concert.
Practical tip: travel light, verify any off-site storage directly before the event, and avoid bringing an item you may not be able to carry in or safely store.
6. Before-you-go checklist
- My official notice matches the artist, date and venue, and I checked for updates.
- I checked bag dimensions, bag types and security screening.
- I checked device entry, device use and performance filming separately.
- I checked the exact water container and food conditions.
- I checked light sticks and other cheering goods.
- I confirmed whether storage exists, its operating limits and excluded items.
- Anything not explained in the notice remains unconfirmed, not “permitted.”
FAQ
Must my bag be transparent?
Not necessarily. Check the specific concert’s official bag policy. Do not assume either a clear-bag requirement or an exemption.
Can I bring my phone and film the concert?
These are different permissions. Some events allow limited phone photography; others prohibit recording during the performance. Read your event’s exact rules.
Are binoculars permitted?
Do not confuse ordinary optical binoculars with magnifying devices that record images. The &TEAM example explicitly restricted recording-capable magnifiers. An ordinary binocular’s status still needs confirmation for your show.
Can I take a water bottle?
Only if your event’s current notice allows that container and quantity. An older festival’s 500 mL exception is not a general rule.
Will the venue keep prohibited items for me?
Do not count on it. Storage services may be absent, full, limited to certain items or separate from security screening.
Final tip: Pack after checking the latest official notice, not after copying another fan’s packing list.
